Who's Tyberius Cravens?!

Whether he’s on the field playing outside line-backer, listening to some Rap and R&B or kicked back chilling with his girlfriend, Tyberius E. Cravens has always been inspired by his rough background. Craven is a 20 year old broadcast major at South Carolina State University, with dreams of becoming a pro football player.

Born December 3, 1994 Tyberius also known as “Ty” was born in Chicago and is the only child. “Growing up as an only child was lonely at times but I have a big family and a lot of cousins to hang with so I adapted to it,” he added. He attended schools all over Chicago until his mom had the idea to move to Atlanta, Ga where Tyberius played football all through his high school career.

Being offered tons of opportunities and scholarships to play at other schools, he felt like SC State would be the perfect place to continue his education. “It was just something about being a part of the bulldog family, and with all the offers I received I felt as if playing for a historically black college I could pave the way for all the young kids and even the adults back in Chicago,” he said.

Always being a risk-taker and being known for making impulsive decisions a lot of people don’t know Tyberius is a huge fan of swimming and taught his self how to swim at the age of 7. He’s not only a football player but also enjoys other sports like basketball and baseball. To sum it all up he’s just a fan of the outdoors.

“You already know I’m a fan of the Chicago bulls because that’s my home city and nobody can do it like us,” he said.

His plans after SC State are to attend grad school at Clemson University. Tyberius said in the next 10 years he sees himself being stabled financially and able to provide for his family with no worries. “The plan is to do what I love which is playing football, and to provide for my fam at the same time,” he added.

Cravens has always been interested in sports media. Watching his favorite news anchor Steven A. Smith (ESPN) on TV for so long he figured that’ll be his backup plan. He said even if he doesn’t go pro, he’ll use his degree to pursue a career as a sports-anchor.
